Grab a picnic basket, life jacket, river shoes and a float, and spend a day playing in the North Oconee River.
Hurricane Shoals Park is located about 20 minutes Northeast of Braselton. Drive across the covered bridge where the river spreads out over shoals. Children don't seem to mind sliding down the rocks on their backside, but adults may want to bring a float or tube.
Explore a grist mill, a 2-mile nature trail and Heritage Village, a collection of authentic restored buildings native to Georgia. Or challenge the family to a game of miniature golf or disc golf.
