Braselton Medieval Faire

BRASELTON TOWN GREEN & CIVIC CENTER, 9924 Davis St., Braselton, GA 30517


All Citizens and guests of the realm invited. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind entertaining, educational and engaging two-day event on the Town Green and at the Braselton Civic Center. There will be living history demonstrations from History Now, hands-on activities, vendors, and live entertainment throughout the weekend! Walk over to the Braselton Civic Center to check out the gaming room, demos, DIY lectures and more. This event is free to attend and fun for the entire family! Costumes are encouraged, but not mandatory.


Living History Demonstrations


Ongoing Interpretation

Historical reenactors and artifacts show examples of daily life, cooking, music, the arms, armor and martial culture.

Historical European Martial Arts, Arms, and Armor: A display of arms and armor of the 11th to 16th centuries, from the Battle of Hastings to the plays of Shakespeare.

Gokstad Tent: Open for display, furnished with material culture items to show 9th to 10th century daily life of a traveling war-band.


Scheduled Presentations for Saturday and Sunday

11:30 a.m. – Swords of Shakespeare: Demonstration/interpretation of the weapons in Romeo & Juliet

1:30 p.m. – The Battle of Hastings: Demonstration/interpretation of the arms, armor and tactics of the battle that transformed England

3:30 p.m. – Tournament of Champions: Round-robin style historical European martial arts sparring in which participants from the audience vie for a chance to face one of History Now’s fighters


Ongoing Hands-on Activity

Family Friendly Arena of Doom: Faire-goers can don protective HEMA sparring gear and try their skill at fighting with sword and buckler, broad sword, and long sword

Arming Tent: location for Faire-goers to sign participation waivers, put on padded armor, and choose HEMA fencing weapon

Sparring Area: fencing space inside area squared off by ropes attached to free-standing corner posts


Town Green Entertainment

Belly dancers ~ a contortionist dancer ~ roaming minstrel ~ face painter ~ balloon artist
