Plan a French country weekend featuring Tour de la Charcuterie

If you’ve been dreaming of a vacation in the French countryside, save yourself the flight and explore a picturesque Georgia mountain town that has all the charm but is much closer to home. Say “oui” to Braselton, located in Northern Georgia, less than an hour from Atlanta.

Stay at Chateau Elan Winery and Resort
Escape to the rolling vineyards and wooded forests of Chateau Elan Winery and Resort, North Georgia's premier destination resort with winery tours and tastings, golf, spa and world-class dining. The award-winning winery is open daily and offers tours where a senior wine steward will guide you through the entire winemaking process, from grape-to-glass. Surrounded by nature and endless activities, Chateau Elan offers a truly unrivaled experience. Reminiscent of an elegant French country estate, the resort is home to luxurious guest rooms, exquisite two- and three-bedroom private villas, and lavish spa suites.

Have brunch at The Galloping Galette
Savory scents invite you to relax on the sunny patio or settle comfortably inside for an excellent meal at this authentic French crêperie in Historic Downtown Braselton. Run by a husband-and-wife team from Bretagne, they offer buckwheat galettes and crêpes. Dine on sweet crêpes and savory galettes at this “hole-in-the-wall” French-inspired bistro with daily specials, vegan and gluten-free options, and artisan coffee.

Enroll in Racing School
In 1998, Dr. Don Panoz—pharmaceutical magnate, motorsports enthusiast and founder of Chateau Elan—brought French motorsports racing to America when he created the Petit Le Mans. Modeled after the 24 Hours of Le Mans held each year near the town of Le Mans, France, America's Petit Le Mans is a 10-hour endurance race held annually at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta that showcases some of the fastest and most technologically advanced sportscars in the world.
You can be more than a spectator at Michelin Raceway! (Yes, the raceway is named for the French-owned tire company.) The track hosts racing schools where you can learn to drive your own sports car FAST on the 2.54 mile, 12-turn world-class racing course. Track days and driving clubs are a driver's gateway to motorsports and racing with a curriculum that combines classroom sessions with practical hands on seat time.

Hop Aboard the Braselton Trolley
While you explore Braselton, hop aboard a vintage-styled trolley for a fun, fare-free ride around town on Friday and Saturday evenings. Trolley shuttles are also available and free during many of Braselton's events and festivals. Or check the Trolley Events page to book seasonal trolley tour tickets.
