About Bicycle Ride Across Georgia
The Bicycle Ride Across Georgia (BRAG) is a nonprofit that provides cyclists with the opportunity to explore Georgia several times a year. Big BRAG is the organization's largest event, spanning 400 miles and six cities. "The route offers a challenging and rewarding experience for riders of all skill levels, taking them through some of the most picturesque towns and countryside in Georgia. We can't wait to see everyone out on the road in June!" said Franklin Johnson, BRAG Ride Director.
Visit https://brag.org/brag/ to learn more about the race. Registration is still open!
Cyclists will begin arriving in Braselton on Tuesday, June 6 and will depart for their next destination on Thursday, June 8. If you drive through Downtown Braselton during the event, it may appear that a giant scout troop is having a summer camp! To make the tour affordable, most riders camp at each stop. Campers will be indoors at the Braselton Civic Center and outdoors in the vicinity of Braselton Park and Hoschton Park. Because BRAG's layover will be spent in Braselton, riders are expected to take advantage of local hotels and attractions during their midweek day of rest.
The Braselton Trolley will shuttle riders and the public throughout town, following a modified route for the event. During the event, the trolley route, schedule, and real-time location will be available at this link: https://braseltontrolley.ridesystems.net/.
Braselton Park facilities will remain open to the public during Big BRAG. The splash pad operating hours are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. The tennis courts will be converted to pickleball courts during the event.
Part of the fun of BRAG is meeting people all over Georgia, so Johnson said he hopes residents will come downtown to meet the cyclists and participate in the events.
